CRESCENT HEIGHTS
west hollywood, california
Tucked just below the iconic Chateau Marmont, this project unfolds inside a 1950s 1,100-square-foot West Hollywood condo. The client came to me with a clear vision and a deeply personal collection of vintage Hollywood film posters that he had spent years curating. The objective was to completely reimagine the living and dining rooms in a way that honored that collection, allowing the artwork to lead while creating a space that still felt livable, modern, and effortlessly cool.
The concept naturally evolved into a dialogue between Hollywood Regency and Art Deco, softened with restraint and modern ease. The existing architecture lent itself beautifully to this direction. We anchored the palette in cool navy tones to create depth and drama without overwhelming the space, then layered in reflective finishes and sculptural lighting to catch and move light throughout the room. The posters became the undeniable stars, framed not just as décor, but as true storytelling moments, each one chosen intentionally from the client’s collection for both its visual impact and personal meaning.
Design details brought the cinematic language to life. Black nickel and black glass tables ground the living space with a sleek, moody elegance. An Art Deco–style pendant in milk glass floats softly above the dining area, while polished vintage stainless steel wall panels reflect light and movement throughout the room, creating that unmistakable Art Deco shimmer without tipping into excess.
What made this project especially meaningful was the collaboration. The client is a true lover of old Hollywood and collectible memorabilia, and we spent hours curating which posters felt right for the space, not just aesthetically, but emotionally. Every piece tells a story. Every placement has intention. The result is a home that feels glamorous without being precious, elevated without losing its sense of ease. It’s a space that supports casual living while still feeling undeniably special.
Today, this West Hollywood condo feels like a modern love letter to classic Hollywood, polished, personal, and timeless, with just enough drama to make it unforgettable.
